Tom Brierton Armatures provides machined stop-motion armatures for the budget-conscious animator, as well as commissions for TV shows and feature films.
Armatures are machined from 2024T-351 aircraft aluminum and mild steel. Bearings are drilled out and affixed to mild steel rods using high-temperature brazing techniques, to ensure a very strong union that will not separate.
Generic armatures are designed as sandwich-plate joints with two tension screws that hold a bearing on one end, and a swivel rod/pin or bearing at the other. This configuration allows for the linking of additional joints for almost any kind of radial and/or linear movement.
Tom Brierton Armatures will be closed from June 20th through July 10th. Production will resume July 11th.
